Why is Chicago Theatre so White?

“Why Is Chicago Theatre So White and How Can We Fix It?” was held at Silk Road Rising on Thursday, February 22, 2007. Moderated by local Chicago playwright and Time Out Chicago theatre editor Novid Parsi, this panel featured accomplished playwrights and theatre professionals, including Erin Gilbert of Congo Square Theatre Company, Luther Goins of the Actors’ Equity Association, Jamil Khoury of Silk Road Rising, and Eddie Torres of Teatro Vista (“Theatre with a View”). The panel also featured guest respondent Chicago Sun-Times columnist Laura Washington.
