A workshop held as part of Benedictine University’s annual teach-in for social justice, this screening and discussion of the video play Obstacle Course explored reactions to a proposed Islamic Community Center on the site of a beloved landmark that precipitating a head-on collision between Not in My Backyard fearmongering, well-intentioned liberalism, and the peaceful practice of faith. The screening was followed by a conversation with playwright Jamil Khoury.
