In this special edition of Collaboraction’s “Becoming” series, special guest Jamil Khoury, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Artistic Director of Silk Road Rising, shared the short documentary film he co-directed with Stephen Combs, Not Quite White: Arabs, Slavs, and the Contours of Contested Whiteness.
Following the screening, guests Roxane Assaf of RootsAction, who is featured in the film, and Fouad Teymour, Playwright and Professor of Chemical Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology, joined a live discussion about the meanings of whiteness and efforts aimed at its redefinition.
